Goal: See if Freshmen had a negative way of seeing themselves.
Activity: Survey
In the survey we asked ten questions to teen girls freshmen and seniors, to figure out if they have a low self esteem or a high self esteem. Based on the answer to these questions we would figure out if they would see themselves in a negative way or positive.
We did a two sample t-test to figure out if there was any significance difference. We found that there was a significance difference because the p-value was larger than .05. Based on the survey freshmen's had a lower mean (19.85) than the seniors (30.25). The higher the number the higher self esteem they had, which means more positive self-image.
Goal: To aware teenage girls of the negative media effects.
Activity: Pamphlets
In this pamphlet we aware teenage girls about how commercials are targeting young girls to buy products to look more pretty, and how there are different websites to encourage girls to see themselves positively and have a high self esteem. We also aware teens to not go into some websites because it's just affecting their health.
Through these pamphlets we tried to make teens aware of how the media is influencing them to look a certain way and have that "idea" body image. Which in reality you can't have it unless you hurt your health.
